These appointments are subject to Government approval and will be made on a contract basis for a maximum period of one year.
Educational Qualification
Waiter / Food & Beverage Staff
- Pre-Degree / Plus Two (10+2).
- One-year Food & Beverage Service Certificate from Kerala Government Food Craft Institute OR One-year Diploma in Food & Beverage Service from IHM.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Two-Star or higher classified hotel.
House Keeping Staff
- SSLC or equivalent.
- Hotel Accommodation Operations Certificate from Food Craft Institute OR Diploma/PG Diploma in Hotel Accommodation Operations from IHM.
- Minimum 6 months’ housekeeping experience in a Two-Star or higher hotel.
Receptionist
- Pre-Degree / Plus Two.
- Front Office Operations Certificate from Food Craft Institute.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as Front Office Assistant or Receptionist in a Two-Star or higher hotel.
Cook
- SSLC or equivalent.
- Food Production Certificate from Food Craft Institute OR One-year Diploma in Cookery/Food Production from IHM.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as Cook or Assistant Cook in a Two-Star or higher hotel.
Assistant Cook
- SSLC or equivalent.
- Food Production Certificate from Food Craft Institute.
- Minimum 1 year experience as Cook or Assistant Cook in a Two-Star or higher hotel.
Kitchen Mate
- SSLC or equivalent.
- One-year Food Production Certificate from Food Craft Institute.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a Two-Star or higher hotel.
Age Limit
- 18 to 40 years.
- Age relaxation will be applicable for eligible reserved categories as per Government rules.
Selection Process
Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on their qualifications and experience. Depending on the number of applications, the selection process may include:

- Skill Test
- Interview
- Preparation of Rank List
Selected candidates will be appointed based on Government approval and available vacancies.
Important Instructions
- The appointment is purely temporary and on contract for a maximum period of one year.
- Copies of educational qualification and experience certificates must be attached with the application.
- Candidates who applied against the earlier notification dated 18.12.2025 need not apply again.
- Applicants must attend the written test, skill test or interview at their own expense.
- The decision of the Department of Tourism regarding recruitment will be final.
